Creating content that will entice readers and keep an audience interested can be a challenging feat. Any website or blog that has been created to increase audience and target demographic following should be focused on crafting interesting and quality content that will inspire brand and/or site loyalty. Findable? Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a science of sorts that helps determine how findable content is via search engines. Making sure your content is easily accessible to individuals that are utilitilizing search engine terms relevant to your postings is an important step to take. Be sure to include links, keywords and tags in your content to ensure find-ability.
Readable? Readability is important in any aspect of the written word. Your content must be not only grammatically correct but also written with your audience in mind. Be sure to check your writing for simple errors to ensure that the content is easily readable, and proofread, proofread, proofread!
Understandable? Be aware of your target audience and write your content with them in mind. Be sure to use terminology that is appropriate for the topic you have chosen to write about, but make sure it is also understandable by your audience. If you’re using terms that are not common or need explanation, be sure to describe them. Always ensure that the content you have created is content that your target demographic can not only grasp but can learn from.
Actionable? Does your content leave your readers with a desire to follow up on your call to action? Is your content interesting enough to inspire them to contact you for a specific service? Be sure to include action items in the content to inspire your followers into using your services to achieve a specific goal. Always use your content to ensure readers that you are capable of performing the tasks that are relevant to the content they are reading. Also, include a strong call to action at the bottom of every post such as, “Sign up for our e-newsletter,” or “Contact us for a complimentary consultation.”
Sharable? The way to spread a message is to inspire followers to share that message with their followers. Much like a chain reaction this method of dissemination allows followers to determine which content is favorable. When you are creating your content think about its character; is it interesting, will others share it with their friends and is it something that a mass audience would benefit from? Creating content that is intriguing and creative will entice your followers to share the content thus increasing your total following. If possible, add sharing links leading to places like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and email to the bottom of each post to make sharing easy.
