Tips for writing a quality thank you note:
1. Be specific and sincere: Steer clear of generic terms. You don’t want your thank you notes to sound as though they came straight from a Google search engine template. Thank the recipient for exactly what they did for you and your company and let them know exactly how it helped you or your business’ needs. Lasting impressions are left by being sincerely gracious for the service or consideration extended to you and your business or brand.
2. Focus on who you are thanking: When drafting your thank you note, be sure to focus on the individual that you are thanking and how their action is valued. In specific instances when dealing with the media, this will show that you are truly appreciative of them, their services and their talents thus leaving positive lasting impressions.
3. Always hand-write: A handwritten note shows the recipient that you as a sender took the time to think of them personally. Avoid sending word processed messages as it risks seeming generic will leave negative lasting impressions.
4. Be timely: Always send thank you notes within 72 hours, the sooner the better.
