As we wrap up this, “Get to Know Three Girls,” series of blog posts, we’re excited to introduce the last, and least traditional, member of our team: Effy the Office Greeter!
This Chihuahua Pug mix received the name Effy after Dennis, Erika and Erika’s son Kyle went back and forth for a long time – it was the only name they could agree on. When not greeting anyone that stops by the office, Effy is likely insisting that she be the center of attention 100% of the time, which is why the family nicknamed her Princess.
Although they aren’t sure when her birthday is since she’s a pound rescue, the vet estimated that she was between 5 and 7 years old when she was adopted in 2009 and officially became Three Girls’ Office Greeter.
When it comes to her significant others, Effy has a very fond relationship with a stuffed duck that makes honking noises and a stuffed alligator with 3 squeakers. Also, she’s gutted the squeakers and stuffing out of 3 identical raccoons. Where does she like to hang out? “I love my current digs. I have a favorite chair, a favorite spot on the couch and even a set of stairs so I can get up on the bed with Dennis & Erika at night.”
Like the rest of the Three Girls staff, Effy loves her treats. Her favorite food, without question, is Pupperoni, although she makes begging for any type of food a favorite past time. She also enjoys playing with her stuffed animals in her free time, although she leaves the serious ball playing to the professionals. Her favorite football teams are the Broncos and Seahawks, and she’s hoping for a showdown between them in this year’s Super Bowl.
When it comes to traveling, Effy’s trip from Silicon Valley to her new home in Washington was quite the adventure. “It was the first time that I got to stay in a hotel!” Now, in her new home, she loves getting out of the house and walking around the park up the street. “There’s a path that winds thru the forest and there are always plenty of wonderfully interesting things to smell.”
What else should you know about Effy? “I have no hair on my underside and only very short thin hair on my back, so Erika keeps me in nice warm sweaters year-round.”
We hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know our team a little bit better!
