A company blog can be a fabulous way to increase your SEO (Search Engine Optimization), give potential clients a taste of services and products you offer and more. That being said, there are a few ways to take your blog from ordinary to fabulous. Here are 3 tips to improve your blog:
Tell people who you are. People like to know whose ideas they’re listening to and what gives them credibility, so make sure your “About Page” includes details about yourself. Include your name, your background, a bit of personality and a picture.
Think about formatting. The way the information visually looks on a page can encourage or discourage potential readers. Think about how you like articles you read to look. When I come across an article with a giant block of text and really small writing I think to myself, “I don’t have time to read this.” If it’s broken up into several paragraphs and is easy to skim, I’ll spend a few minutes reading the post, though. Even adding a picture or two can help an article look less intimidating.
Plan ahead. When you feel inspired, write a few extra posts and store them up for rainy days. Write down any ideas you think of throughout the day, too, and keep them handy for when you have time to sit down and write a couple of articles. You don’t need to blog every day, but it helps to have something ready to post – or at least a few ideas – when you hit a wall.

Erika, thanks for the great tips. I need to get better about jotting down blog ideas as they come to me. I am just getting started with video blogging. I’ll be eager to see how that works for me. If you have any tips on video blogging, I’d love to hear about them in a future article.
