Before you publish a social media update for your business, do you have someone proofread it for you? Grammarly recently analyzed more than one billion words proofread by their writing app within a single month and found people make more mistakes on social media than anywhere else online. The full infographic shares the details, but here are some of the results that stood out to me:
- Internet users make three times as many mistakes in social media posts than in email or blog posts.
- Research shows you’re least likely to make an error online between 4am and 8am.
- Foreign language words are becoming more common in English writing. The top 5 words Grammarly users added to their personal dictionaries were from five different languages: Spanish, Japanese, Korean, French and Hindi.
