I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that you haven’t won the lottery nor have you donned a mask and made plans to rob a bank; AKA you’re getting a little worried about funds. Stop worrying! Here are 3 strategies you can use to get customers in your door at a low expense for your company.
1. You’re Gonna Need a Pen (or Excel)
TRACK EVERYTHING! I can’t stress enough how important it is for you to track every expense your company incurs, especially when it comes to marketing. Keeping track of each of these costs will allow you to look back and know where you could spend a little less (or even a little more) in the future.
2. Free is Good
Thanks to social media, marketing your business has never been easier on a tiny budget. The cost of starting a Facebook, Twitter, Google + and/or LinkedIn page all equal out to a nice cost of absolutely zero. Logging some hours on Pinterest, Vine and Instagram never hurt either, and they just require time and creativity. Start with these platforms first then move on to Facebook ads, Google AdWords and sponsored Twitter updates which can all be terrific for bringing business in the door in a cost-effective way.
3. Set Your Priorities Straight
What do you absolutely need to get your customers in the door? What is the expense of that marketing campaign? Actually making a list and prioritizing the items on it will not only help you organize your budget but lay out a plan of expectations for the company. Put off buying the $600 chair and go for the sturdy business cards and souped up Facebook page first.
