What Is It?
Truly Motivated Transitional Living (TMTL) was founded in 2005 out of the significant need for supportive sober living in the Yelm and surrounding South Puget Sound area. They operate as a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization with five staff members working on-site and directly with their residents. All of their sober living homes are within walking distance of each other with access to their community meeting hall and dining room. Truly Motivated comfortably houses up to 23 residents. Since 2005, Truly Motivated has been proud to support hundreds of men and women in their recovery journey. Families are restored, hearts are healed, hope is found and residents find a 24/7 supportive recovery family to connect with.
Through their sober living supportive programs, employment is secured, driving privileges are restored, legal matters are resolved and successful transitions to independent living happens regularly. While abstinence is a requirement for participation in their program and a foundational part of recovery, we consider achieving milestones to be a more insightful and appropriate gauge of success. In addition to sobriety, they track and monitor residents’ goals and progress toward independent living and assist in preparation for transition planning.
They have developed partnerships with the Washington State Department of Corrections and are proud to be a safe next step for those exiting incarceration. They also have great working relationships with a number of local businesses and churches, as well as other agencies in the industry such as in- and out-patient treatment providers, and funding resources. TMTL believes that through these partnerships and networking they offer their residents opportunities for accessing local resources to aid in their success.
